Im März 2007 beginnt das Internationale Polarjahr. In dieser Zeit wird intensiv zu den Polarregionen geforscht, da diese die geodynamischen Entwicklungsprozesse der Erde maßgeblich beeinflussen. “Mit offenen Karten” begibt sich in die Antarktis, den unbewohnten Kontinent mit Sonderstatus.
